preventing decay: 2022 education results
Our three Prevention & Education programs are designed to prevent future decay with awareness initiatives and educational tools designed to reach the most vulnerable children and families where they live, work and play.
Our Health Education Resources and Outreach Program (HERO) mobilizes and equips our partners and volunteers to educate their communities about oral health.
We are excited to share these milestones and other highlights from 2022 with you!
here are some other education HIGHLIGHTS:
- 90 ToothFairy 101® Community Education Kits (shown above) were distributed in FY22. (That’s enough to reach a minimum of 22,500 kids!)
- Community outreach efforts by our program members increased, reaching 20-30% more kids with oral health education than they did in the two years before the pandemic!
- 152 Protect Your Smile education resource kits were distributed through our Smile Guardian Initiative.
- This year, our education resources helped our program members and community partners teach healthy dental hygiene habits to more than 800,000 kids and caregivers!
- In 2022 our sponsors helped us launch two national awareness campaigns.
- In the fall of 2022, we expanded our Resources Page to include multiple languages including Spanish, Arabic, and more! Our selection of translated resources grows each month thanks to volunteer translators.
