Journey canvas is a visualization in Analysis Workspace that allows you to analyze how people proceed through or fallout of a defined journey. The journey is represented as a flexible graph of nodes and arrows representing any combination of events, dimension items, and filters. If you leverage Adobe Journey Optimizer today, you can use this visualization to analyze existing journeys that you've defined.

___

Guided analysis in Analysis Workspace enables users to create dashboards with comprehensive insights from panels, visualizations, and guided analyses. From a new left rail section, you can create new guided analyses to add to your projects. You can also access saved guided analyses that can be re-used as building blocks across many projects.

___

Asset Transfer lets you transfer ownership of components such as projects, filters, and calculated metrics to other users to ensure continuity and appropriate access.

___

New reporting interactivity features in Adobe Journey Optimizer have been added. Powered by CJA, these enhancements include creating a simple metric or publishing an audience directly from your report, performing basic ad-hoc analysis, and scheduling your report for delivery to your stakeholders.

Summary-level datasets allow you to bring in time-series data that does not have a person ID. This time-series data can be used to support various use cases, such as:

  • Presenting high-level performance indicators as part of or next to event-level data. This can include something as simple as a date and a single metric value or include multiple dimensions and metrics, like advertising impressions, spend, email opens, cost of goods sold, and more.
  • Uploading targets or goals at a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis and positioning these targets or goals against event-level metrics to help visualize how metrics are pacing to plan.

Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) Enhancements

Guided analysis is now available in all CJA packages. Guided analysis enables users to self-serve high quality data and insights about the customer journey through guided workflows, built on the cross-channel data leveraged in other CJA tools like Analysis Workspace and the mobile app. This enables cross-functional teams, from marketing to product, to collaborate together with data, no matter where users fall along the data maturity spectrum. Up to 11 views are available depending on your CJA package.

You can now view a table of contents within your Workspace projects. The table of contents enables users to quickly jump to panels, visualizations, and new section headers within the project.

___

Within drop-down filters in Analysis Workspace, users can now multi-select more than one value at a time. Selected values are treated as an OR filter applied to the data; for example, filter to Direct or Display in the example below.

___

You can now create hyperlinks for dimension items in a freeform table which is helpful when you want to tie data to a visual that represents the data. For example, linking page URLs or product names to their live pages on a website. Hyperlinks can be dynamically created from the dimension item value or a custom definition.

AI Assistant is a conversational experience that allows practitioners to perform tasks at a fast pace – whether its understanding concepts, troubleshooting problems, or searching through information. It also allows non-experts to perform expert tasks and increases the overall quality of work. The AI Assistant in CJA is trained on its Adobe Experience League documentation. When asked a question, AI Assistant responds with a helpful answer that enables quick learning.

___

Adobe Journey Optimizer reporting is now fully integrated with Customer Journey Analytics capabilities, standardizing reporting across both platforms and improving data consistency and reliability. This seamless integration between Journey Optimizer and Customer Journey Analytics provides a clearer view of performance metrics, enabling users to make more informed decisions.

___

Graph-based stitching enables you to use the Identity graph to get a better view of the customer journey by:

  • Joining datasets with different identifiers without having to extract, transform and load additional data to reflect a single identifier.
  • Improving coverage of preferred or golden identity for a single dataset by sharing identities across datasets.
  • Aligning profiles created in Real-Time Customer Data Platform and Journey Optimizer with people in Customer Journey Analytics.

___

To support person-based lookups on B2B data (including accounts, opportunities, marketing lists and campaigns), you can transform B2B lookup datasets. This transformation is available for datasets with the following classes:

  • XDM Business Account Person Relation
  • XDM Business Opportunity Person Relation
  • XDM Business Marketing List Members
  • XDM Business Campaign Members

___

New derived field functions are available in Data views:

  • Summary lets you apply aggregation-type functions to metrics or dimensions at event, session, and user levels.
  • Deduplication helps prevent the repeated counting of a value, and can be applied at the User, Session, or custom dimension value level.

May 2024

The new Real-time Reporting API 2.0 allows you to access real-time data programmatically through Adobe Developer. The real-time data reported is less than two minutes latent and auto-updates on a minute-by-minute basis.

Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) Enhancements

The BI extension enables SQL access to CJA data views, enabling data engineers and analysts to democratize insights through tools like Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and visualization tools.

___

New derived field functions are available in Data views:

  • Next or Previous lets you take a field as an input and then identify the n-previous or n-next value to get a better view into the user journey. This functionality could also be combined with other functions in Derived Fields, such as Concatenate, to create new dimensions.
  • Math lets you use simple math operators to answer new questions about your users. For example, you can combine product, warranty and shipping revenue.

___

You can now compare events within a single step in the Funnel analysis. The ability to create a "forked" journey is particularly useful when your journey has step options or an A/B experiment is being run, and you want to understand the conversion of those varied paths.

___

New documentation is available for helping your organization understand the upgrade paths, decisions, and considerations for moving from Adobe Analytics to Customer Journey Analytics. Learn more

April 2024

The low traffic threshold has been increased from 500K unique values/month to 2-2.1M unique values/month. This change means more dimension values may be available for reporting, and segments, calculated metrics, and virtual report suites may include more data.

___

The Projects landing page now shows a "Last used" column which can help you with project governance. If a project has not been opened in a long time, this may indicate that it is no longer valuable to the organization and can be discontinued.

___

Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) Enhancements

The B2B Schema Transformation for person to account lets you transform datasets to better support person-based lookups in CJA B2B reporting scenarios.

___

Intelligent Captions are now available in mobile scorecards and can help non-analysts make better make sense of their data without the help of analysts.

Example of a mobile scorecard intelligent caption

___

Experience Edge bot detection allows you to identify events generated by Web SDK, Mobile SDK and Server API as being generated by known spiders and bots.

___

Engagement analysis helps product teams fuel investment decisions by understanding what your core, power, one-time, and questionable features are. Feature matrix measures events by reach (% active users) and frequency of use, and you can compare current behavior across segments, past time periods, and "top events" for your organization.

___

Additional capabilities have been added to the Retention analysis to drive deeper and more customizable user retention insights:

  • Unlink start and return events
  • Compare multiple return events in a single view
  • Customize the retention model applied with on or after (unbounded), on each (bounded) and bracketed settings
  • Show & hide individual cohort rows in the chart
