Jean, an Amsterdam-based photographer from the Netherlands, has a passion for traveling the globe to capture stunning images. His goal is to showcase people at their best through portraits and to preserve their life moments, thereby helping to build their legacy of memories.
Introduction
WHO AM I?
My given name is Jean, and I go by Juanistyle as an artist. My parents come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and my birthplace is Greece.
Having grown up in Belgium and now residing in the Netherlands for several years, what fascinates me most in my job as a photographer are human encounters. My primary purpose is to highlight the unique essence of the people I photograph, whether it's their personality or their craft, and to immortalize life's important moments with my camera.
Photography, for me, is not just a passion; it's my preferred form of expression and a way to connect with others. It offers a path for personal development and presents exciting challenges, all while being an act of sharing and interaction.
Though naturally reserved, my sense of humor is ever-present. As a dedicated professional with a passion for cutting-edge photographic technology, I am devoted to making you comfortable and ensuring your day is enjoyable, with the promise of excellent results. Most importantly, it's a time of warmth and friendliness, and my aim is for you to cherish the memories we create together.
WHAT ARE THE PHOTOGRAPHIC GENRES I PRACTICE?
My primary expertise lies in portrait photography, including individual and personal branding images. Additionally, I specialize in fashion photography, corporate event coverage, and contribute to editorial and commercial projects.
HOW TO DEFINE MY PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?
I identify primarily as a photography enthusiast. The term "enthusiast" etymologically signifies being "inspired by the divine."
I define my photography style as elegant and clean, yet sophisticated, with precise composition and a strong emphasis on colors and textures.
I am also a cinema fan and since I became a photographer, I have become more sensitive to the colors and angles with which the scenes are shot and when it comes to conveying an emotion or telling a story.
WHO WOULD I MOST LIKE TO COLLABORATE WITH?
This is a difficult question...I have a list of those I really admire the work: for example John Russo, Von Jackson, Alexi Lubomirski, Mark Seliger, and Annie Leibovitz for their portrait work.
WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS ARE DEAREST TO MY HEART? WHY?
I like to work on portrait sessions on location because I feel free I have the possibility to explore my creativity, especially with lighting and storytelling..
WHAT WOULD BE SOME TIPS YOU WOULD GIVE TO A BEGINNING PHOTOGRAPHER?
I think that all photographers must have the mindset to keep learning and keep challenging themselves. take the time to learn your cameras, lighting, composition, software, and posing.
They can use Youtube and other training websites to improve. I also help to work as a second shooter and to find a mentor to work with.
I think it is important for a photographer to take the time to create his/her own style. It is also very important to take the type of pictures he/she likes and have fun!
We believe that our most precious pictures should not only be available on computers, tablets or smartphones and should be printed on paper and albums. The technology known obsolescence but not the book. This is why we offer together with the pictures high quality albums and printing soltutions for your most important pictures. We also think that the best way to tell a story with pictures is to have them in an album as well.
