External display issues with Adobe CC inDesign

Since the latest OSX update (10.10.2), I'm unable to work on my external monitor in Adobe CC inDesign when the display is arranged to the top. The application launches, with menu and toolbars on the external, but fails to open the working document as well. With app frame checked, it shows the document but it's inaccessible – also, tools are pixellated.

Strangely, everything works fine with the external arranged to the left, right or bottom. I've tested it on a 27" apple display – same issue.

Bizarre and annoying.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013, 2 GHz Intel Core i7) with external DELL S2240L arranged to the top. Running inDesign 2014.1 (10.1.0.71 Build)

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Had this issue also. The way I got mine working again was to go into System Preferences / Displays / Arrangement and change the alignment of the external monitor. I had mine initially with the tops of both screens aligned. When i moved the alignment to be roughly centered the palette menus began to behave properly.

Thanks pixelman1 – I eventually got it to work by setting up a custom 15" workspace, then dragging a few tool panels to the top display (external arranged above). Document worked fine when dragged to the top too.

I have a similar problem. I'm working on a 15" MacBook Pro with an external 27" Apple Cinema Display. I use the huge external display for the application frame and put my palettes on the laptop's display. The external is to the right of the laptop, and I arranged the displays such that their bottoms are aligned. Since updating to 10.10.2, the application frame jumps part way down the screen (I'm guessing to where its top aligns to the laptop display). This makes the application practically unusable.

Switching my screen arrangement such that the two screens are top-aligned "fixes" the problem.

Since posting I'm back to the same issue; using a left arrangement for now. Far from ideal, but there seems to be no way of getting around that glitch.

Another artifact of this issue is that InDesign does not respond to the cursor correctly in the bottom portion of the screen. It seems to be the area that falls below the height of the laptop screen. I'm going to have to switch to working on the 15" laptop screen until this is fixed.
