Craig Daalmeijer-Power

TAFE NSW

Craig took us through how he uses layers in Photoshop to create simple and clean layers that can be imported into Adobe Aero... making a multi-dimensional Christmas card that utilises the AR ability of Aero!

Craig didn't stop there. He then took a selfie of himself from a previous Holiday Card, and put himself into the card with the bunny as an additional layer!

Craig then exported his PS file to Aero using the Photoshop menu.

Michelle Dennis

Haileybury College - Victoria and Pangea

Michelle is passionate about students being educated properly about the truth and deception that is the reality of social media.

The reality is that many students have not one, but multiple social media platform profiles. There are so many platforms, and it is incredibly important that they are aware that what they see is curated, and does not reflect reality.

'Candid' images are no longer candid. Filters and warp tools change everything that is presented, even if it appears to be done 'in the moment'.

Social media accounts have pit-crews!

Michelle argues that students need to be aware of the fact that brands (and yes, that includes individuals and not just companies) are carefully planned and curated. There is a danger if young people think that someone is perfectly groomed or fabulously witty all the time... this can make them feel inadequate against an unobtainable reality.

Construct your messages carefully - this is a new age life skill!

Michelle guides her students through the practical techniques of managing and building social media accounts, showing them in real time how information can be curated... or straight-up manipulated!

Workshops available in the first half of 2022
