Father Koys is a true shepherd to his flock. When the pandemic closed down the churches, he immediately had live streamed masses daily and all of the devotions during Lent including Stations of the Cross, the Holy Rosary, Holy Thursday Mass, May Crowning, Holy Hours and Corpus Christi. Father Koys visited his parishioners and drove by their houses in Lemont with the Blessed Sacrament. He also offered via Zoom a study of St. Thomas Aquinas and discussions on Fatima. Once the churches reopened, Father Koys welcomed everyone to come back to mass. Even though the church is small, many people are still able to attend mass and sit outside. Father Koys has a deep love for the faith and a great knowledge of church history and saints, which is reflected in his homilies. He spends many hours hearing confessions, having Eucharistic Adoration and Rosaries after mass and organizing parish events that can be done social distancing. He is truly a blessing to our parish.

Father Koys has very powerful homilies and he tackles some of the tough problems of today and he is not afraid to speak the truth and to put his parishioners first. My faith has increased since joining St. James because of the beauty and tradition of the parish and Father Koys being a true and faithful priest. What impresses me most about Father Koys is that he prays with his parishioners, especially the Rosary and spends time praying with us in Eucharistic Adoration.

Father Koys is a true shepherd of the Catholic Church. He promotes the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and a reverence to tradition.
