City Council Presented with Revised FY 2020-21 Budget
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, the Laguna Beach City Council received an overview of the revised Proposed Budget for FY 2020-21. This budget is a revision to the second year of the currently approved budget in light of the impacts of COVID-19. The City Council is scheduled to adopt the revised budget next week at its regular meeting on June 30, 2020.
Coast Inn Remodel Project Continued Until July 28
At its regular meeting Tuesday, the Laguna Beach City Council delayed a vote on the proposed remodel of the Coast Inn until its July 28 meeting to provide staff more time to analyze details of the project.

Laguna Beach City Council Adopts Resolution Banning City Use of Anticoagulant Rodenticides
At its regular meeting Tuesday, the Laguna Beach City Council adopted a resolution prohibiting the use of anticoagulant rodenticides in municipal maintenance operations by the City of Laguna Beach.
The resolution also urges Laguna Beach business owners to refrain from selling or using anticoagulant rodenticides, and urges residents to refrain from allowing the use of anticoagulant rodenticides on their private properties.
Findings from 2019 study done by the National Center for Biotechnology Information analyzed anticoagulant rodenticide exposure research from around the world.
It revealed that rodenticides can have a footprint in our ecosystems far larger than the bait traps they’re initially set out in.

Summer Parking Rates Begin Friday
The Laguna Beach City Council did not increase summer parking rates this year, and rates remain the same as summer 2019 parking rates.
Effective Friday, June 26:
- Enforcement hours for Downtown meters and lots will end at 9 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.
- Hourly rates at Downtown parking lots and meter zones will increase to $4.50/hour (the same rate as summer 2019)
- Parking rates in Lots 10, 11, 11E and 12 will increase to a flat rate of $15 on weekdays and $20 on weekends/holidays (the same rate as summer 2019)
- Parking rates at Lot 13 (Susi Q) and Lot 14 (Hagan Place) will increase to $5 flat rate (the same rate as summer 2019)
- Mission Hospital will be open for free public parking M-F after 5 p.m. and all day on Saturday and Sunday
- Act V, LCAD and Summer Breeze lots will not be available for public parking this summer due to suspension of Trolley service
Laguna Beach Small Businesses Can Apply for Small Business Grant Relief Until Monday, June 28
The Small Business Grant Relief Program offers grants up to $10,000 available to eligible Laguna Beach small businesses and non-profits beginning today.
Grant applications are open now until Monday, June 28, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.
Upcoming SCE Pole Replacement
On Tuesday, June 30 and Thursday July 2, Southern California Edison (SCE) will be replacing two utility poles in Laguna Beach.
On Tuesday, one lane will be blocked near the intersection of Temple Terrace and Cress Street and flaggers will be used to direct traffic.
On Thursday, Crestview Place will be closed near the dead-end portion of the road. Power outages are required and affected customers have been notified.
