Throughout the week, we have been aware of and have monitored the small protests at Main Beach. So far, each of them has been peaceful.

We continue to receive intelligence updates from around the county, and currently, we do not have a large-scale protest scheduled in Laguna Beach. However, this could change.

If we do learn of a large protest developing, we will send out a Nixle message to the downtown business group to make them aware. We have extra officers deployed to be visible and who are monitoring these events.

Rest assured, your Laguna Beach Police Department is prepared and will mobilize immediately to deal with any civil unrest that may occur.

Sincerely,

Captain Jeff Calvert, Laguna Beach Police Department
