“I love the kind of travel experience that takes you on a magic carpet ride rather than down a humdrum path. Lots of companies promise something different, but usually, what you get, is a slightly less well known location and nothing more. But – adventuring with Unique & Exquisite Events is like jumping into a beautiful story where – with each turn of the page, another exquisite and amazing experience is revealed and you are the one that actually gets to live it, taste it, feel it, fly over it, absorb it, play with it, laugh, dance, or simply sit with it.”

Hear: The gentle clack of wooden geta sandals, melodious chanting of Buddhist monks, the excitement of Harajuku, and the soothing sound of bamboo fountains in zen gardens.

Come with me...
Day 1-3: Tokyo - Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow
Immerse yourself in the electric energy of Japan's capital. Experience traditional Japanese arts, as you try your hand at calligraphy or kintsugi. Feel the excitement build as you witness the drama and spectacle of a Kabuki performance at the renowned Kabuki-za theater, savoring lunch in this historic venue. Explore hidden backstreets even most Japanese don't know!
Day 4-5: Kanazawa, Takayama, and Shirakawa-go - Step Back in Time
Glide through the countryside on Japan's famous Shinkansen bullet train, enjoying a traditionally prepared bento box for lunch - the only time Japanese people eat in public outside restaurants. Wander the preserved streets of Higashi Chaya, where lanterns cast a magical glow on traditional wooden buildings.
Wake to the lively atmosphere of Takayama's morning market
...before exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go, with its quirky and distinctive gassho-zukuri farmhouses.
Day 6-7: Kyoto and Miyajima - The Heart of Japanese Culture
Be enchanted by the timeless beauty of Kyoto. Have the privilege of being entertained by Geisha over a private dinner. Witness the mesmerizing sight of a shrine illuminated at night, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.
Then, journey to the island of Miyajima, home to the iconic floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. As the sun sets, watch its reflection shimmering in the waters of the Seto Inland Sea.
Day 8-9: Hiroshima and Kumamoto - Reflecting on the Past, Embracing the Present
Stand in silent reflection at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, feeling the weight of history and the hope for a peaceful future. Then, contrast this poignant experience with the grandeur of Kumamoto Castle, a testament to Japan's feudal past.
Day 10: Mount Aso - Adventure in the Heart of Kyushu
Experience the thrill of horseback riding at Jody's El Patio Ranch on the edge of Mount Aso, one of the largest calderas and most powerful volcanoes in the world, in the heart of Kyushu.
Explore the dramatic landscapes surrounding this geological wonder!
Day 11-12: Hakone - Relaxation and Reflection
Catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji's perfect cone, framed by cherry blossoms in full bloom. Then, immerse yourself in the healing waters of a traditional onsen, feeling your cares melt away as you reflect on your journey.
The onsen stay is a ritual in itself from the rooms to the baths to the meals, a real treat. This is (probably) the only night we will share rooms as that is the traditional way to enjoy this experience
Day 12: A Fond Farewell to Japan
Return to the vibrant heart of Tokyo for a final afternoon of exploration. Perhaps you'll make a last-minute dash through the trendy shops of Ginza, reflect on your journey in the tranquil gardens of the Imperial Palace, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this incredible city one last time.
"Sayonara" parting is such sweet sorrow
As the sun sets on your extraordinary adventure, gather with your newfound friends for a special farewell dinner. Raise a glass of sake and say "Kanpai!" as you share favourite moments, laugh over shared experiences, and perhaps even plan your next journey together.
Returning home, you'll carry with you not just souvenirs, but a heart full of memories, a camera filled with incredible images, and friendships that span the globe. As you bid "Sayonara" to Japan and your travel companions, you'll know it's not goodbye, but "until the next adventure!"
A journey that wakes you up, inspires you, recharges you & returns you fulfilled, your heart topped up!
Join a small group of like-minded women for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Together, we'll peel back the layers of Japan's rich culture, engaging all your senses and awakening your spirit of discovery.
Unique and Exquisite Journeys: Unveiling Japan's hidden treasures, one extraordinary experience at a time.
“Karen has a very fine-tuned sense for everything that goes on around you and makes sure all is organised to perfection; that everyone is comfortable and that the food, tours and hotels are of the highest quality and standards”
Of course it makes a massive difference to have my dear friend Jody Toda as my co-conspirator for this unique & exquisite journey!
Japan had been on my "bucket list" for decades but it was only this year that I finally visited for the first time. I completely fell in love with the country and the people - it was extraordinary, it IS extraordinary, and I have never been made to feel so welcome.
Now, Jody and I have put together a glorious trip to bring it all to life for you too. Of course there are some classic highlights you simply have to see but we are going off the beaten path - as you would expect - and getting to experience so much that regular visitors don't... I am personally deeply grateful for these opportunities and I know how much you will love them.
A few personal memories from my visit in Spring 2024...now I want to share all this and so much more with you!
Hello and welcome! I trained and worked in hotel management and went on to have a 7-figure event management company with a team of 24 at peak for 21 years so I know a thing or two about events and I absolutely love hospitality! I have also been a transformational life coach for two decades and now with Unique & Exquisite Events I’ve brought all my passion for events, travel, food, transformation and connection to create wonder-full, delicious, fun, unique & exquisite events for intimate groups of women – sharing my delight in exploring and finding the joy in everything I do. You are in caring, well organised, experience hands with me & my very carefully picked team.
I understand that life can be rather humdrum at times, rather ordinary, rather uninspiring, rather challenging. Work, relationships, family, possibly being an expat, balancing, juggling, health, loneliness…any or all of this can take its toll, it certainly has on me at times along the way. Sometimes life changes can make us feel very alone too.
It is absolutely my commitment to help you find some inspiration…a breath of fresh air…a new persepctive. To unlock a smile that may have been hidden for a while, one that comes from the heart.
It’s time to come (a)way beyond imagination with me!
with love and joy,
Karen xxx

I initially thought we would have to price this at $12000/£10000 and that is what I first quoted but I'm delighted to say that we've been able to bring it in at $10000/£8500 fully inclusive for 12 nights in amazing places with all meals, wine, drinks, tours, experiences, gifts….really, everything! … included!!! From the moment you touch down in Japan to the moment you leave. No need to bring any money (except for souvenirs and presents to take home) or make any decisions just relax and enjoy the wonderful experience. Be looked after, you deserve it. Other tours, not unique & exquisite, less bespoke and including a fraction of this come in well above this - just for a little context!
A payment plan is available for those booking early and your place can be secured with a $600/£500 deposit.
If you wish to stay on for business meetings, or for any other reason, I am happy to help facilitate that with my friends in Japan. I know this is something that some of you are interested in doing
