Inject Creativity Live Wednesday 09/02/2022

Our crew for this episode...

Tim Kitchen, Erin Raethke and Jerry Wong are joined by Jason Lane from Brisbane and Chris Betcher from Sydney.

Follow us on our Edu-Twitter:

Tim and Erin share Adobe Creative Cloud Express (formerly Spark)

Firstly, Tim shared how to log in to Creative Cloud Express, then showed us how to quickly and easily access the new 'Quick Actions' available!

Then I did a quick show and tell of how to use the 'Custom size graphic' option to open an A4 size project, then how to search and explore the range of available templates. I also shared briefly how to explore the layers in the available templates to help you customise and make them your own.

Jason Lane

AEL from Villanova College in Brisbane

Jason shared how he has been progressively working on assets in Adobe Creative Cloud Express to interact with OneNote.

Jason also shared how he is using the ability to upload fonts in CC Express to use the school's branding to improve consistency and enhance the usage of his school brand within his delivery.

Jason created editable templates in CCExpress to create a template in OneNote that students could add their brainstorming ideas to, rather than providing them with boring text on a plain screen.

He opened this template in CCExpress and shared how he uses the different file options to download his handouts based on his planned distribution method - digital (jpg or png) or print (pdf).

Jason quickly took us through a visual tour of how to add a Spark Page directly into Teams - the same can be accomplished with Google Classroom/.

Jason also quickly showed us how easy it is to add an image created in CC Express as a background to a Whiteboard in Teams, and add interactive areas (fast!!!) using the Notes Tool in this utility!

Chris Betcher

Adobe Education Leader Emeritus

"Some wheels need reinventing..."

Chris works at Google now, and he used the available microkitchens solved the problem of snack-attacks in the workplace, but created a problem - unhealthy snacking by staff on the regular:

By making one simple change (the RIGHT change), you can make a huge difference. By making the relatively healthy snacks available at eye and reach-level, and the less healthy stuff out of direct line of slight, they changed the patterns of what people would see first... and select first!

They didn't take any 'naughty' snacks away... they just put the healthier choices front and centre!

So what single small change could you try in 2022, that could completely and positively change the way you operate?

Conversely, what did you try in 2021 that worked well, that you will work into your wheel for 2022?

Chris' challenge to you:

Share with him what YOU plan to incorporate into (or keep up on) your wheel in 2022!
