City of Laguna Beach Issues Order Requiring All Essential Workers in City to Wear Face Coverings
Laguna Beach City Manager John Pietig issued an Emergency Order requiring all Essential Workers providing non-medical essential services to wear face coverings while at work, adding a new layer of protection for the City of Laguna Beach in the fight against COVID-19.
The City Manager’s emergency order states all employers of non-medical essential businesses require their workers wear cloth face coverings that shield their noses and mouths while at work.
This includes Essential Workers at all grocery stores, pharmacies, home improvement stores, gas station convenience stores, restaurants providing take-out or delivery services, banks, savings and loans, and credit unions. Face coverings, such as scarves (dense fabric, without holes), bandanas, neck gaiter, or other fabric face coverings are allowed.
Essential businesses must also implement physical distancing measures for employees, customers, and maintain proper sanitation at all times or the facility shall be closed.
“We are requiring all Essential Workers in Laguna Beach wear a face covering to help slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Laguna Beach City Manager John Pietig. “This is an additional level of protection for both our residents and our Essential Workers still on the frontlines providing food and critical services to our community.”
Recent guidance by the California Department of Public Health states ALL Californians who must leave their homes to conduct essential activities should wear face coverings if they feel comfortable doing so.

Age Well Providing Meals For Laguna Beach Seniors
Seniors who would like to be enrolled in Home Delivered Meals should call Age Well’s Laguna Beach office at (949) 715-5462.
Home Delivered Meals will occur Monday (2 days’ worth of meals delivered), Wednesday (2 days’ worth of meals delivered), and Friday (1 meal delivered).
Seniors wanting a single lunch may go to the Susi Q parking structure Monday, Wednesday, Friday between the hours of 11:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m.
Each senior will be given one lunch for the day.

Governor Newsom Announces Additional Benefits for Workers Impacted by COVID-19
Governor Gavin Newsom announced that starting this Sunday, California workers who are receiving unemployment benefits will begin receiving an extra $600 on top of their weekly amount, as part of the new Pandemic Additional Compensation (PAC) initiated by the CARES Act.
