Pick Up the Broom

Abstract:

We have all heard of the American Dream. I have been blessed to have lived it. One of my blessings was the fact that neither of my parents finished high school. My mother made it to the 7th grade and my dad to high school. How was that a blessing you might ask? Because by watching them I learned so much. I also learned that my future was up to me and that I could forge it into what I wanted it to be and I did! My goal is to share a few simple values, which when applied can change the direction of your life too. You are in control of your life, seize the day!

Biography:

Mr. Steve Fox is the owner of the Fox Auto Team of El Paso. From his humble beginnings in Roswell, New Mexico, he now operates a company of 230 employees that in 2021 alone made $260,000,000 in sales. Over the years he has worked with a variety of automobile manufacturers including Toyota, Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Subaru, Isuzu, Honda, Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, Peugeot, BMW, KIA, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo. He has served on numerous industry councils over the years, most notably on the Toyota National Dealer Council for the past nine years. That position is one of only thirteen elected seats from the 1,250 Toyota dealers across the country.

In 2014 he was elected to the El Paso Business Hall of Fame and just last year was awarded The New Mexico Medal of Merit, the highest civilian award that the state of New Mexico through its governor can provide. While Mr. Fox serves on numerous boards in El Paso, a great deal of his efforts in philanthropy revolve around health care. Being a stage four cancer survivor he works as an advocate and friend for cancer patients. He is also an active volunteer at MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the leading cancer treatment and research centers in the world, and serves on the Executive Council of the Board of Visitors of MD Anderson. For his entire life his hobby and passion has been motor cycle racing. In 2004 he won the World Off Road Racing Championship in the over forty class and in 2021 won the New Mexico Desert Series Championship in the over fifty class.
