Wed, June 21: Athens (replaced Mykonos due to itinerary change)

Docked from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Welcome to Athens, the historical capital of Europe. Welcome to the birthplace of democracy, arts, science and philosophy of western civilisation. Home of Plato, Socrates, Pericles, Euripides, Sophocles, Aeschylus. Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities. It’s recorded history spanning around 3.400 years and it is being inhabited since the 11th millennium B.C. E. Today, under the shadow of Parthenon, the contemporary urban scenery of the sprawling city reflects its exciting history, its multi- cultural modern personality as well as the infrastructure and facilities.

The perfect Mediterranean climate with the legendary greek sunlight, the unique combination of glorious history with modern, urban innovation, the coexistence of great culture with astonishing natural beauty, the high standard hotel accommodation, modern means of transportation such as the cutting edge modern metro, the vibrant rhythm of life, the wide choice of opportunities for shopping, dining and night life and of course the warmth of the Athenians people feature Athens as the ideal all year round city break destination. The city of Parthenon is an open air museum. A large part of the town’s historic center has been converted into a 3 km pedestrian zone, one of the largest in Europe. It leads to the major archaeological sites (“archaeological park”), reconstructing – to a large degree – the ancient landscape. Either on foot or by bike, the ‘’Grande Promenade’’ around Acropolis is an unforgettable journey through history.

Thu, June 22: Santorini, Greece

Tendered from 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Santorini is one of the world’s most popular islands, known best for its dramatic scenery, whitewashed villages and fiery volcanic activity. Here adventure bubbles above the Aegean Sea in the most bold and breathtaking ways. A cable car takes you to the capital of Fira, a bustling cliff-top town awash with old cathedrals, enthralling museum collections and cozy tavernas. Venture to the coast for a swim in the deep blue waters that lap red and black pebbled beaches. And peel back layers of lava and history among excavated Akrotiri. Whether it’s by bicycle, ATV or on your own two feet, exploring this Cyclades isle never fails to impress.

VOLCANIC WONDERS

Explore the volcanic history and geology of Santorini, site of an immense eruption 3,500 years ago. Trek the rocky landscape of Nea Kameni, an island in the center of the Santorini caldera, to see its smoking craters. Then soak in the soothing hot springs of Palea Kameni.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

Considered the island’s most picturesque village, Oia radiates authentic Cyclades charm. Meander along tiny paths squeezed between stark-white villas. Snap selfies with the blue-domed St. Gerasimos Church, and view Byzantine castle ruins. Or dine on Greek seafood in a waterfront taverna— also the perfect perch for watching Oia’s fabulous sunsets.

THE GLASS HALF FULL

Indulge your taste buds in a delectable tasting journey among the island’s traditional wine cellars. Vineyards dapple Santorini’s countryside, and many are among some of Europe’s oldest. White Assyrtiko and red Mantilaria are both popular varietals— and be sure to sample Santorini’s beloved dessert wine, Vinsanto.

LOCAL CUISINE

Thanks to Santorini’s rich volcanic soil, the island has a solid reputation for producing fantastic wines and vegetables— fresh cherry tomatoes, fava beans and white eggplant included. Try egg-based sfougato and fried tomatokeftedes fritters, two Santorini specialties. Pick up melitinia cookies from a local bakery. And for an after-dinner drink, sip unsweetened, anise-flavored raki.

SHOPPING

Ypapantis Street in Fira is known for its dozens of jewelry stores selling pieces inspired by ancient Greek and Byzantine designs. You’ll find local artwork in the galleries of Oia and books about the Cyclades in Atlantis Books. A bottle of Santorini wine or Canava ouzo makes for a tasty souvenir.

Family Cruising

Royal Caribbean cruise ships are giant playgrounds with so much to see and do. From an award-winning kids club, designed for all ages; and family-friendly aerial, ice, stage and aqua entertainment, to racing waterslides and even spa programs for the youngsters, you may find it hard to head back home. It’s entirely up to you and your family to define your adventure, however busy or relaxing you want it to be. The complimentary Adventure Ocean program is where the excitement usually starts for kids. Ranging from babies to teens – each with their dedicated areas on board – the program hosts plenty of entertainment and adventures that will expand imaginations, and even foster new friendships.

NOTE: The nursery for children under 3 is not available on this ship.

Aquanauts, Explorers and Voyagers (3 to 11 years)

Aquanauts - actual design may vary ship to ship

Royal Caribbean offers a long lineup of sure-to-please activities for its younger guests ages 3 to 11 years. Each of these three age groups have their own dedicated activity space with events and experiences tailored to them:

Aquanauts, for those 3 to 5 years old, focuses on age-appropriate lessons that incorporate music, creative arts and crafts, dinosaurs and even a pirate party parade (“arrrgh”). They’ll rule Kids Avenue, a central boulevard connecting them to other Adventure Ocean areas and themed play places.

Explorers is designed for kids 6 to 8 years old, and will encourage the curiosity of young minds with areas like the Adventure Science Lab. Little Einsteins will dive into hands-on science activities, from studying fossils to meteorology, and of course, a few (controlled) test tube eruptions.

Voyagers, ages 9 to 11, can kick things off with a scavenger hunt, which offers a fun and exciting opportunity to bond in their group – before jumping into sports tournaments and video game competitions. These older kids will surely make use of the Adventure Ocean Theater, where they can catch a performance designed just for them, and then take to the stage themselves to show off their skills in talent competitions. Other perks include Adventure ScienceSM, featuring hands-on science experiments, cultural arts and crafts, and late-night pizza parties (who wouldn’t love that?)

Teens (12-17 years)

Teen Lounge - actual design may vary from ship to ship

Teens, meanwhile, flourish in an open format, so these “almost adults” enjoy a vacation customized to their interests. They are grouped by ages 12 to 14, and 15 to 17, and can opt for pre-planned activities—like rock-climbing competitions, organized dances and movie nights—or they can choose to hang out in their own personal spaces, such as the teen lounge or teen-only nightclub – mock-tails included.

If your teen is in need of a little relaxation, there’s a spa program just for them. The YSpa menu features a variety of pampering services like the Sole Mate pedicure, Beach Babe deep conditioning treatment, and more.

For the Entire Family

Even with dedicated programming designed with young travelers in mind, the engaging experiences available for the whole family runs the gamut. Your crew can splash on over to the H20 Zone waterpark and fire water cannons and dodge geysers, visit Splashaway Bay for whirlpools and a giant drench bucket, then hit the video arcade—where adults can play classics like Pac-man, and everyone can rock out together on Guitar Hero.
