BRCGS Materials Packaging Issue 6 was published in August and audits start next month in February 2020. While the Standard continues to focus on risk analysis-based safety programs and supporting quality management systems, it’s evolved to better align with the Global Food Safety Initiative. There’s now a significant focus on good manufacturing practices and better risk management through Hazard Analysis Risk Assessment (HARA) to prevent, eliminate or reduce product quality hazards.
