2022-2023 Calendar Update

We recognize the importance of planning family schedules as they relate to the start of school. While productive and collaborative negotiations are continuing, we are making the following dates available at this time:

  • August 30, 2022 First Day of School for Students (1/2 day elementary; full day secondary)
  • September 2, 2022 NO SCHOOL
  • September 5, 2022 NO SCHOOL – Labor Day
  • September 14, 2022 NO SCHOOL – Professional Development for staff

In addition, many vacation dates - such as Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break - are aligned with the Macomb County Common Calendar. Please note, the final negotiated agreements may result in additional days for these breaks. These dates have been added to our district website. Our goal remains to make the entire 2022-2023 school calendar available prior to the start of school this fall.

Utica Community Schools is pleased to continue the Meet Up and Eat Up food program this summer. Providing children with access to nutritious food beyond the school year and into the summer months has clear health and educational benefits. All children and teens ages 18 years old and under can receive free, USDA-funded, healthy meals at selected locations now through August 4. All meals must be eaten onsite. Persons up to age 26 who are enrolled in an educational program for the mentally or physically disabled that is recognized by a State or local public educational agency may also take part in this USDA-funded program.

During the program, UCS will serve meals each week at designated locations and times. Please click on the tab below for locations. No meals will be served on July 4, 2022. These free meals are for children only who are present and may not be taken offsite.

We know that your time is valuable. In order to avoid unnecessary delays in getting the help you need, please review our Communication Flowchart and follow this process to get the answers you need as quickly as possible. Emailing or calling the principal, may not be the best way to get a fast response to a question about something that occurred in the classroom. It is always best to communicate directly with the staff member who is closest to the situation. Review the flowchart below and follow the outlined process to ensure you are connected with the right personnel.
