Aluminium in a post-Covid world
Wednesday, July 29, 2020 10:00:00 AM Coordinated Universal Time - 11:30:00 AM Coordinated Universal Time
In late 2019, the International Aluminium Institute commissioned a report, to look into the global demand for aluminium up to 2050. The authors, CM Group, identified the outlook in February as ‘strongly positive’ with a demand of 335 million tonnes per year by 2050.

But since COVID, the landscape has changed and so has the forecast for the industry. And for this reason, the report had to be updated to reflect the impact of the pandemic on the aluminium value chain. Subsequently, An Initial Assessment of the Impact of the Covid–19 Pandemic on Global Aluminium Demand report was published.

To delve further into the report’s findings, Aluminium International Today will host a webinar with the report authors and the International Aluminium Institute.
• What does a post-Covid aluminium industry look like?
• Will the metal still play a key role in the global circular economy?
• Which sectors are like to be worst hit by the pandemic?
• Ultimately, will the industry survive the crisis?

We’ll be exploring these and many more on the webinar.
