Scott & Robbie

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for considering adoption and taking the time to learn a little about us.

We first met in high school but did not begin dating until we were in college. We were finally married in 2001 and have enjoyed sharing our lives together ever since. When we were first married, we discussed adoption as something we supported and may consider at some point in our future. Infant adoption became a reality for us after Scott's spinal cord injury. We now have two adopted children, a son and daughter, who are the lights of our lives!

Both our children have been raised with the knowledge of their adoption since birth. We want them to celebrate their special gift and know how we became a family. Our children understand they were placed for adoption because their birthmothers loved them so much that they only wanted the best for them.

Over the years, we have experienced the blessings, joys, and sorrows of adoption. One of our strongest memories is of our son's birthmother's tears as she decided to leave the hospital. Her tears were our tears. We learned at that moment it is possible for the human heart to break and rejoice at the same time. Our gain was her loss, and we felt it very much.

Our children both know their birth families, and we value this openness because it allows them to know where they came from. The level of openness in each of our adoptions has been directed in large part by the wishes of the birthparent and we are open to doing the same with this next adoption.

These days, Robbie works in Healthcare and Scott is a full-time stay at home Dad, which he loves! We are both originally from Kansas and have since returned to be closer to our family. When the weather is nice, we love spending time outside, on our boat at the lake.

We look forward to a new addition to our family. Our children can't wait to meet their new baby brother or sister and share in the adoption experience. We hope you will get to know us better.

May God bless you and hold you in his arms as you determine what is best for you and your baby.

Sincerely,

Scott & Robbie
