DANVILLE, Va. - The 2017 USA South Men's Basketball Tournament championship game took place on Saturday, February 25 on the campus of Averett University in Danville, Virginia as fifth-seeded LaGrange defeated second-seeded Methodist, 75-56, to capture the program's third tournament title in the past four years (Full story below).

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2016-17 All-Conference awards for men's basketball. Averett University's Charles Bryant was named Player of the Year while his coach, David Doino earned Coach of the Year honors. N.C. Wesleyan College's A.J. Frye collected Rookie of the Year accolades to close out the individual honors. Finally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team consisting of one member from each competing school (Full list of All-Conference honorees in link below).

Player of the Year: Charles Bryant (Averett)

Rookie of the Year: A.J. Frye (N.C. Wesleyan)

Coach of the Year: David Doino (Averett)

MARYVILLE, TN. - The 2017 USA South Women's Basketball Tournament finals took place on Saturday, February 25 on the campus of Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee as the West second-seed Piedmont defeated the West top-seeded Scots, 58-44, to collect the tournament championship for the first time in the program's history (Full story below).

USA South Athletes Attend 2017 NCAA Convention

USA South Student-Athletes at the NCAA Convention in Nashville, TN

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference was recently represented at the 2017 NCAA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee by 25 student-athletes from its member institutions. The Conference was able to sponsor this endeavor through the NCAA Division III Strategic Initiatives Grant Program. This was the first time the USA South has sponsored student-athletes' attendance at the NCAA Convention (Full story below).
