The Future City competition challenged RMS Gateways students to create a city of the future. Students were responsible for creating their futuristic city based on a specific theme. This year's theme was the "Age-Friendly City."
The student's first step, in the process, was to interview for a specific position they were interested in. Students were interviewed by members of the RMS Faculty and RTSD Administration.
Following the "hiring process" students visited Bergmann Associates, in Conshohocken, to gain real-world feedback about their project. Students met with Electrical, Structural, and Industrial Engineers, as well as Interior Designers and Planners.
The teams were then prepared to begin creating their project deliverables:
1. A 1500-word City Essay
2. Virtual City Simulation Presentation
3. A 7-minute Presentation
4. Physical Model
5. Project Plan
The Regional Competition was held on January 20th @ Archbishop Carroll High School. 40+ teams took part in this year's competition.
