Happy Birthday, Tita Millie! And New surprIses from the plaza catering

Just thought I'd share with you some photos from last year's birthday celebration of our dearest Tita Millie Reyes, who has been very generous to welcome us in their home to experience a feast that only The Plaza Catering can deliver!

Tita Millie, if you must know, studied at the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de la Societe Suisse des Hoteliers of Lausanne, Switzerland, and Cornell University of New York. To date, she and her daughter Karla spearhead the business. It's not so new that this mom-and-daughter duo are almost as always, present in some of the most prestigious functions in Manila. Presidential banquets, Political functions, parties involving glitz and glamour, as well as the most renowned people in the world have tried their food, including their prized possession, The Plaza Ham.

Even my Tita, who has been all over the world and tried some of the best dishes from different countries, still considers a slice of Plaza Ham with Pan De Sal as classic comfort food that she will always enjoy eating.

And to top it all, the night Tita Mille celebrated her birthday is also our dear friend Karla's mini homecoming celebration with the KTG after her long stay in New York (where she took culinary courses in the Big Apple). For those who aren't aware of what KTG means, it's basically a group of food loving guys and gals, and I love each and every one in the KTG!

For starters, Karla mentioned about her new venture, called La Petite Fromagerie, which offers customized cheese platters and your own Raclette Buffet Party!

I just love how melted cheese makes life more meaningful!

Moving on, Gnocchi and other types of pasta are also available, including this creamy white sauce pasta that melded beautifully inside a parmesan wheel. This is definitely something I would love to have in my own party if given a chance!

Other delicious items include the Roasted Turkey...

....sweet and savory stuffing which are formed into balls

And this son of a beef super good very wonderfully done Homemade Corned Beef Brisket! This is bonkers! So delicious, smoky and tender!

Roast Beef, anyone?

Or better yet, this all time favorite! I've had a couple of slices of ham during that night! The Plaza Ham is the best one you can have when you're here in Manila. My favorite is the bits and pieces that fall off while slicing. Their salty and sweet and perfect with warm Pan De Sal!

Happy Birthday Tita Millie!
