A circus-themed LM Week ended with the ultimate final act: a 28-20 Raiders' win over Lower Merion High School on October 26. The victory makes it seven straight for the Raiders in a football rivalry alive since 1897.
Along with Pajama Day, the fun included "Tiki Tuesday," "USA Day" on Wednesday and "Throwback Thursday." The students created original artwork to decorate the hallways.
On Friday, students and staff members celebrated their Radnor pride during the annual LM Pep Rally in the gym.
Playing ringleader, Technology Education teacher Mr. Drew Krupp emceed the festivities, which featured performances by the cheerleaders, football players, senior boys and girls, teachers, drum line, color guard and the Radnor Ravers. New this year were performances from RHS junior and contortionist Ally Capone, dance group Hot Topic, and cyclist "One Way."
School Board President Lydia Solomon, Superintendent Kenneth Batchelor and Principal Dan Bechtold also took to center court to announce what all the students were waiting for: there would be a half-day off on Monday (Oct. 29) if Radnor wins.
Th Raiders' win keeps the trophy at RHS for seven straight years and counting, and makes students extra happy with a half day off in the afternoon on Mon., Oct. 29.
