Tiger Pride at the Mayclim Tournament Boys and girls varsity make it to finals

The 38th Annual Robert E. Mayclim Basketball Tournament took place once again at Croton-Harmon High School this weekend, with both the Croton-Harmon boys and girls varsity basketball teams making it into the finals against Dobbs Ferry High School teams, only to lose in tough games.

The Mayclim tournament was held from Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 13-15, with visiting teams from Carmel, Montfort Academy, Lakeland, and Dobbs Ferry all competing until the finals on Saturday. As it turns out, the girls' and boys' varsity Tigers both made it into the finals, and both against the Dobbs Ferry Eagles.

Although the girls varsity team lost 44-59 and the boys varsity lost 25-47, both teams played valiantly. Congratulations to the junior varsity girls on their 34-29 overtime victory to win their championship! The junior varsity girls were led by Emma Windrum with 13 points and Madison Archer with 9 points.

On the varsity boys side, Mucyo Sheriff of Dobbs Ferry and our own Sean Macarchuk were named named All-Tournament players. As for the girls, Croton-Harmon's Anna Eng was named All-Tournament player.

Thanks to our hard working coaches: Ryan Callahan, JV girls; Justin Duchin, JV boys; Ben Martucci and assistant coach Eric Rosen, varsity boys; and Joe Streany Jr. and assistant coaches Isabella Zappa and Ryan Callahan, varsity girls. Our athletic director is John Buonamano.

Go, Tigers!
