Integrated Planning and Monitoring: A Framework for Improving Practice

Join the Capacity Building Center for States to explore how to align Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP) goals with Program Improvement Plan (PIP) initiatives and other strategic planning and monitoring processes to improve practice and establish a shared vision for your child welfare system.

What you will do: 

- Examine strategies for coordinating efforts with other teams on improvement initiatives and making time for program improvement
- Learn about applying continuous quality improvement  principles to strategic planning to better assess readiness for change
- Consider effective approaches for overcoming barriers and challenges to integrating the CFSP and Child and Family Services Review PIP
- Hear examples of successful systems integration through collaborative partnerships, teaming, and resourcing

What you will learn: 

- The importance of and need for an integrated approach to improving practice to enhance safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children, youth, and families
- How to align CFSP goals and implementation with those from the Child and Family Services Reviews PIP and other strategic planning and monitoring processes to create sustainable change and improve outcomes  
- How applying CQI principles to strategic planning processes will assist jurisdictions in better assessing child welfare systems and their readiness for change, and creating data-driven improvement plans
- Effective strategies for coordinating efforts across teams working on improvement initiatives and for overcoming barriers to establishing an integrated approach to practice improvement
