Meet the Gearharts #underthemagnolia

In your opinion, what makes Magnolia Green stand out?

Magnolia Green is an incredible, social community that provides its residents with many opportunities for interaction to develop acquaintances and friendships. From a chance interaction walking the sidewalks in the neighborhood to the planned social events, Magnolia Green provides a great array of opportunities to meet new people and enjoy the place where you live.

What is your favorite social event in Magnolia Green?

Oh, we’ve loved them all so far! I would have to say my favorite social event so far would either be the Pool Party or Fridays at the Green. Both were great opportunities to let loose and meet new people. Although we both enjoy the 5K/10K Race in the neighborhood, Andrew is particularly excited about this annual tradition. Joining a Magnolia Green running group is one of the first things he did when we moved here, and he met a great group of encouraging people that he looks forward to running with in races to come!

Why did you choose Magnolia Green?

We chose to move to Magnolia Green for a number of reasons. When evaluating the many different neighborhoods in the greater Richmond area, we felt that Magnolia Green offered everything we were looking for: great schools, quality homes, a variety of home types and designs (not cookie-cutter), convenience to shopping, close enough to Downtown to take advantage of all it has to offer, fantastic amenities, and access to great walking trails throughout the neighborhood. However, it wasn’t until we actually moved here that we found out that Magnolia Green in fact had so much more to offer! We love the social events; there’s always something to look forward to. As well, we absolutely love meeting new people in the neighborhood, learning about what brought them to this area, and establishing friendships.

And can you sum up Magnolia Green in word word?

Hospitable. Moving to a new state and purchasing our first home was at first very exciting. However, starting a family with absolutely no family or friends nearby and no connections was downright scary. It didn’t take the residents of Magnolia Green any time at all to help us build confidence as new parents and homeowners. The moms in the neighborhood quickly came to my aid when I had questions about pregnancy and bringing baby home. They even coordinated a meal train so that we wouldn’t have to worry about cooking. Since living in the house, we’ve endured a couple of storms with fallen trees that caused damage to our property. Our neighbors in Magnolia Green came to our aid without hesitation. We feel very fortunate to live in such a friendly, hospitable community.
