World Mosquito Day 2019 Social media toolkit - 20th AUGUST 2019

ABOUT

World Mosquito Day, observed annually on the 20th August, is a commemoration of Sir Ronald Ross’ discovery in 1897 that female Anopheles mosquitoes transmit malaria between humans.

World Mosquito Day presents us with a great opportunity to raise awareness of the dangers of mosquitoes and malaria, whilst also celebrating the progress we have achieved in the fight against the world’s deadliest creature.

This World Mosquito Day, we encourage all partners to mark the day by joining our social media campaign and sharing content including posts and video links. This toolkit provides suggested posts, handles and assets to help your organization help raise awareness about the deadly mosquito and the havoc it wreaks on the most vulnerable populations around the world.

Our social media posts will use the following hashtags, and we encourage you to use them too to help build a global campaign.
