Bike and Pedestrian Safety Share VA Roads Event - May 18, 2019 - Herndon, VA

The Northern Virginia Regional Commission's Share VA Roads program was happy to join with the Town of Herndon, Fairfax County Public Schools Safe Routes to School Program, the Street Smart program, Inova Health System Trauma Services and Green Lizard Cycling to participate in a bike and pedestrian safety event in downtown Herndon.

The event included providing bike and pedestrian safety information, a bike tuneup and swap and the distribution of free helmets. Five of the volunteer safety instructors trained through NVRC's program participated in the event providing safe bicycling training and instruction on the rules of the road.

Both Inova and Green Lizard donated bike helmets. We are grateful to all the day's participants in helping keep our communities safe.
