Food for thought:

What is a digital portfolio?

What are the benefits of having students create portfolios?

How can portfolios fit into your classroom?

Digital Portfolios are online collections of learning artifacts to showcase a student's accomplishments and growth over time. These portfolios are a way to demonstrate what students know and how they got there.

Rebecca Hare, Education Community Program Manager for Adobe

"By opening up the possibilities for how success in schools is documented, all students can be celebrated for their efforts."

Teacher Questions

  1. What are my big learning experiences or projects that I want my students to include? (3-5 ideas is enough)
  2. Help your students remember what they need to capture to make this digital portfolio unique for them.
  3. Create a structure.

Student Questions

  • What are my strengths?
  • What are my challenges?
  • What have I learned?
  • What can I use to show my skills?

Let's start building

Portfolios help students demonstrate growth and understanding by asking them to share their strengths and challenges, and their process of learning.

Backwards Planning

Open the Teacher Planning Guide and let's plan together.
