Leveraging Cross-sectoral Partnerships to Advance the Implementation of Smoke-Free Public Housing Thursday, April 5, 2018 6:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time - 8:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time
Smoke-free public housing benefits residents and property owners alike. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recognized these advantages and designed a rule requiring every U.S. public housing agency to implement a smoke-free policy by July 2018. To this end, local health departments have a role in working with housing agencies and private owners to implement and promote the smoke-free housing policies. Join this webinar, hosted by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), to learn more about how local health departments can engage in cross-sectoral collaborations and leverage resources to advance smoke-free multiunit housing in communities. Three local health departments will share how they developed partnerships with local community-based organizations and engaged residents to become leaders in their community related to smoking cessation efforts.
